It's Homecoming on Amboy Road as Monsignor Farrell welcomes St. Anthony's for a Friday night Catholic AAA showdown. The matchup is scheduled for Friday, October 23 at 6:00 PM, setting the stage for one of the biggest home games of the Lions' 2026 season.
FARRELL
The Lions will have confidence from last year's meeting. Farrell traveled to Melville in 2025 and came away with a dramatic 21–20 victory over St. Anthony's, one of several key wins during Farrell's 9–2 season.
This time, the Friars come to Staten Island with Farrell looking to defend its home field in front of a Homecoming crowd.
ST. ANTHONY'S
St. Anthony's finished 7–5 overall in 2025 and reached the postseason after navigating a demanding schedule that included Don Bosco Prep, Iona Prep, Cardinal Hayes, Chaminade, Stepinac and Farrell.
Last year's one-point battle showed just how evenly matched these programs can be, giving the 2026 rematch plenty of intrigue.
KEYS TO THE GAME
Feed Off the Homecoming Crowd — Farrell should have plenty of energy behind it. The Lions need to turn that atmosphere into a fast start.
Win the Physical Battle — St. Anthony's presents another tough Catholic League opponent. Controlling the line of scrimmage will be critical.
Protect the Football — In a matchup that was decided by a single point last season, one turnover or special-teams mistake could change everything.
Finish the Fourth Quarter — Farrell knows how close this matchup can be. Execution in the final possessions could once again determine the winner.
